Most bands who flaunt their high-tech capabilities (read: “blistering fretwork,” “amazing chops”) are about as interesting as watching your grandparents sleep. Then there’s Glass Cloud, the high-powered outfit fronted by former Of Mice & Men/Sky Eats Airplane mouthpiece Jerry Roush who can offer clean melodic vocals and bestial roaring as if he’s been sipping too much broth from the rim of Hell. Their debut, The Royal Thousand, significantly raises the bar for post-modern technical metalcore, and we are effin’ stoked to have them open the AP Tour. If you don’t show up early to see them, well, your parents were right when they said you’d never amount to anything.
